On December 15th, a delegation led by Gu Jianxin, the party secretary and director of Zhejiang Foreign Affairs Office, conducted a research visit to Hailiang Group, accompanied by Ruan Libin, the director of the General Office and member of the Party Group of the Zhejiang Provincial Foreign Affairs Office, Hu Min, the deputy Mayor of Shaoxing City, and Wang Lihong, the chairman of Hailiang Group and secretary of the Party Committee.

During the visit, Gu Jianxin and his team visited the Party Building Hall of Hailiang Group and gained a thorough understanding of the company’s unique and effective “Six Pairs” party building method. They fully recognized its high-quality development over the past thirty years under the guidance of the party.

Gu Jianxin stated that Hailiang upholds ideals and social responsibilities. To fully implement General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speeches at the opening ceremony of the third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation and during his inspection of Zhejiang, the Zhejiang Provincial Foreign Affairs Office will continue to provide deep assistance in the construction of Zhejiang’s important hub for “the Belt and Road Initiative”. The aim is to enhance the brand of “economic and foreign affairs”, vigorously promote Zhejiang’s private economy brand, introduce high-level foreign affairs resources, and create a favorable international environment for private enterprises to cooperate with foreign countries, which will better facilitate their “going global” and “bringing in” efforts. He encouraged Hailiang to build a friendly network with foreign countries so that it can expand overseas markets and obtain more orders. Besides, Hailiang should adhere to the dual emphasis on high-quality “going global” and high-level “bringing in”, carry forward the spirit of “four thousand” and practice the “sweet potato economy”. By doing so, Hailiang will contribute new strength to Zhejiang Province’s high-quality participation in “the Belt and Road Initiative”.

Wang Lihong presented the development trend of Hailiang Group, which is steadily progressing and improving. Hailiang is actively involved in rural revitalization and common prosperity through the synergistic model of “education + agriculture”. Additionally, the company is promoting high-end intelligent manufacturing and accelerating digital transformation. Wang Lihong mentioned that Hailiang Group becomes one of the early Zhejiang private enterprises to go global in line with the initiative to jointly build “Belt and Road”. Now, Hailiang has 11 overseas production bases in Asia, America and Europe, establishing long-term cooperative relationships with thousands of customers in hundreds of countries and regions. Like the vines of sweet potatoes, the sales of copper pipes and bars extend in all directions. As a company that has “gone global” from Zhejiang, Hailiang will seize opportunities to expand its “circle of friends” and actively explore and practice global strategies through opening up international markets and recruiting global management talents, which will contribute to high-level openness and high-quality development in Zhejiang.
