Recently, the Conference on Promoting the High-Quality Development of the Private Economy in Gansu Province and the Third Award Ceremony for Outstanding Builders was held in Lanzhou. Hu Changsheng, the Secretary of the Gansu Provincial Party Committee and Director of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People’s Congress, and Ren Zhenhe, the Deputy Secretary of the Gansu Provincial Party Committee and Governor of the Province, were in attendance.

Hu Changsheng stressed that the private economy is the driving force behind China's modernization and a crucial foundation for high-quality development. He congratulated the esteemed non-public economic figures and urged the majority of private entrepreneurs to prioritize the real economy, nurture their core businesses, and persist in advancing innovation in corporate concepts, systems, products, and business models. He encouraged them to embrace competition and expand their markets with an open mind.

Dr. Wang Shuguang, Vice President of Hailiang Group and Chairman of Gansu Hailiang New Energy Materials Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Gansu Hailiang New Energy Materials”), has been honored with the title of “The 3rd Outstanding Builders of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics in Gansu Province”. This prestigious award was jointly organized by the United Front Work Department of the Gansu Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, the Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security, the Provincial Market Supervision Bureau and the Provincial Federation of Industry and Commerce. This award aims to honor exceptional individuals, serve as a role model for others, and inspire non-public economic practitioners to uphold their principles and values, strive for high-quality development, maintain integrity, comply with laws and actively fulfill their social obligations.

In line with the “Carbon Peaking and Carbon Neutrality Goals” initiative and the national strategy of promoting high-end, intelligent and green development in the manufacturing industry, Hailiang Group invested 8.9 billion yuan in December 2021 in the core area of the Silk Road Economic Belt - Lanzhou New Area, and initiated a project to produce 150,000 tons of high-performance copper foil materials annually. Dr. Wang Shuguang, appointed as the chairman, immediately went to the northwest and led the copper foil team to pioneer the development of the new energy industry, setting new industry records and achieving remarkable accomplishments.
